Tamborine Mountain, a town in the Gold Coast hinterland of Queensland, is preparing for a busy month of events in August 2023. The town, known for its natural beauty, arts and crafts, and wineries, will host various activities that appeal to various audiences. Here are some of the events that are scheduled for August 2023:

 

Kundalini Meditation Circle

Place: Gallery Walk

Date and Time: 6th August; 9:30 am to 11 am

Ticket Price: 20 AUD

A Kundalini meditation circle, led by Sita Ajeet Kaur, a local yoga and meditation teacher, will take place at Long Road on Sunday. The event is open to anyone who wants to experience the benefits of Kundalini yoga, which combines movement, breathwork, and sound healing.

Participants will be guided through a series of exercises that aim to balance the mind and body, as well as connect with the group energy. After the meditation, tea will be served and attendees will have the opportunity to chat and socialize.

 

Tamborine Mountain Car Show

Place: Tamborine Mountain Sports Centre

Date and Time: 20th August; 8 am to 12 pm

Ticket Price: 10 AUD (FREE for children below 16)

The Tamborine Mountain Rotary Club is organizing a car show on Saturday. The event will feature a variety of classic and modern cars, motorcycles, and trucks, as well as food vendors and market stalls.

Show car and bike owners can register their vehicles online for $5 per vehicle and driver. Food vendors and market stallholders can also register online for a fee of $50 per stall.

The car show is a fundraising event for the Rotary Club, which supports various local community groups and projects.

 

Sue Ferrers Trio

Place: St. George’s Anglican Church

Date and Time: 26th August; 3 pm to 4:30 pm

Ticket Price: $25 (Adults) and $5 (Students under 18)

Sue Ferrers, a folk musician who plays the Swedish nyckelharpa, a rare and ancient string instrument, will perform with her trio. The concert will feature a selection of folk tunes from different European regions and cultures, such as Spain, Scandinavia, and Scotland.

Sue Ferrers has recently returned to Australia and formed a trio with a guitarist and a double bassist. The trio aims to showcase the unique sound and charm of the nyckelharpa, which has been described as “hauntingly beautiful” and “spellbinding” by critics and audiences.

 

Tamborine Mountain Country Markets

Place: Tamborine Mountain Show

Date and Time: 13th August; 7:30 am to 1:30 pm

Cost: FREE Entry

The Tamborine Mountain Country Markets, a monthly event that showcases local craft and food, will be held on Sunday. The Markets will feature a range of stalls that sell fresh produce, handmade products, and specialty items.

The Markets are a popular destination for visitors and residents and provide an opportunity to support local businesses and farmers and enjoy the scenic surroundings and the friendly atmosphere. Admission is free for the public. Parking is available on-site for a gold coin donation.
